Crosby HG-228 Jaw & Jaw Turnbuckles

Crosby jaw & jaw turnbuckles are the perfect rigging solution for closed connection points. The jaw end fitting on both ends can open, allowing you to connect to eye bolts, lifting lugs, and other similar rigging equipment.

The forged jaw ends are fitted with bolts and nuts for sizes between 1/4" and 5/8", and pins and cotters on all larger turnbuckles.

NOTE: Turnbuckles are recommended for straight or in-line pull only.

HG-228 Turnbuckle Features

Crosby turnbuckles are designed to easily handle the demands of most rigging applications, ensuring superior performance and a long lifespan.

The jaw end fittings are normalized or endure Crosby's Quenched and Tempered® process to provide consistent performance for critical applications. The turnbuckle bodies are heat-treated for added strength. Hot-dip galvanizing deposits a protective layer on components and helps prevent corrosion, extending both the service life and the appearance of the steel.

Quality Construction:

  • UNC-threaded body with modified UNJ threading on end fittings improves fatigue properties.
  • Marked with Crosby® logo, size, and Product Identification Code (PIC) for traceability.
  • Fatigue Rated® to 20,000 cycles at 1-1/2 times the WLL.
  • Meets Euronorm standards for fatigue.

Conforms to Industry Standards

Our Crosby® HG-228 jaw-jaw turnbuckles meet or exceed all requirements of ASME B30.26, Federal Specifications FF-T-791b, Type 1, Form 1, Class 7, and ASTM F-1145 (except for provisions required of the contractor). They also meet other critical performance requirements including fatigue life, impact properties, and material traceability.
